Chuck, We are so sorry to hear about Jennifer.  The family is in our thoughts and prayers.  I know we don't get to come very often anymore but I do remember meeting Jennifer at a GTG bar-b-que.  We talked about the candy store and kids.  Did Darren say what happened?  She was 33??  I don't know what to say except God be with them.

First off I want to say thank you to all of the Colorado AV club members for being so supportive.  Your kind thoughts, prayers and flower arrangement were very appreciated.  The kids and I are doing well considering the situation.  We have more good days than bad days.

I know all of you have had the question of what happened.  Jen had spinal fusion surgery on May 6th.  Her surgery was a success and she was up and walking the next day.  She was hooked to a pain pump to manage her medication but it turned out the pumps were malfunctioning and she wasn't receiving any pain meds.  They tried 3 other pumps over the next 2 days and all 3 failed to deliver medications correctly as well.  After that they began giving her medications orally and by IV.  On Friday May 9th she was scheduled to be discharged to go home but her discharge was revoked after the hospital over medicated her vitals dropped.  On Saturday morning her vitals had improved and she was discharged again.  Then shortly after that they checked her vitals again and revoked her discharge.  Her blood pressure and O2 sats were too low.  I specialist came and saw her after that and re-instated her release.

We arrived home around 4 pm on Saturday after running to several pharmacies to fill her prescriptions and took a nap until 9 pm.  Jen then got up and went to the bathroom and hung out with me for a while and then she settled back into bed around 10:30.  We said our final I love you's around Midnight and both went to sleep.  At 8 am I woke up and found that she had passed away during the night in her sleep.

We have finally obtained the results of her passing and it has come down to the hospital gave her medications that reacted with medications they prescribed upon her discharge.  I know I didn't have to post this, but I know there have been questions about how this could happen to a such a young beautiful person.  Jen will be forever missed and loved by all of us.

The kids and I just want to say thank you again for all of your thoughts.  We hope to see you soon at the next GTG.
