2 years ago... (weekend before my wedding actually so I was busy Cry) we had a big http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com/cafcna/index.php/topic,42075.0/all.html - MOD GTG  up in the garage at Matt's (aka NORTH CO AV) church.  I've contacted Matt and he's busy travelling a lot for work up into May.  So if we'd like to use the garage (has a lift!) some saturday in May or June it sounds like he could arrange it for us.  I was thinking of having a mod gtg in April but if we wait a month...

Just ask any of the folks that were able to make the last BIG MOD GTG... it sounded like it was a great time!

Of course for the use of the garage I'd like to offer Matt's church something in exchange... I don't know if they need canned food for a local food bank or some good clothes or jackets we no longer use.  Something like that.  Let me know what you think.

BUMP! Tongue

Lets get the ball rolling for our next GTG!  Everybody (Matthew) was giving me crap about all the mods I'm waiting to do so I'm voting for Saturday May 19th for the next big MOD GTG!  That's a week after Mother's Day and a week before Memorial Day weekend.

If we do this one you might have room in your back seat for passengers where your mods have been riding!

I'm out for the month of May.  Closing on the new house is on the 25th, so every weekend between now and the first of June is pretty well taken up with getting this place ready to go, moving and settling into the new pad... Sometime in June?

The weekend that I will not, for sure, be able to do a Mod GTG is the weekend of the 12th/13th.

And I have a Clutch concert to go to on the 19th.  I'm going with a friend from the Springs so that's not a good day for me...

Currently, June is looking real good.

We're closing on our new place in Elizabeth this week, and depending on how the new job prospect comes along, I'm good in June.  Just let me know!

Ok folks... I heard back from Matthew and it looks like we need to find a new location for the GTG.  He's got too many things going on right now to commit to a date.

So I'm open to suggestions.  Where can we have our mod gtg?  I really want to have something planned & accomplished here before Father's Day rolls around.

If push came to shove I suppose we could have the GTG at my place but like I say I'm open to suggestions.

    Bummer...

I think for people to suggest places, we need to have criteria on what a place would need to serve as a good place for the GTG.

So, here's my first take on what the location needs:

    Bathrooms
Shade/cover (in case of sun or rain)
Easy access to food (fast food so the hungry Av owners can get fuel for themselves)
    Electricity
Room/space - for X number of Avs (or EXTs, we did have one at the first MOD GTG)

I don't have the above or access to such a place.  So, let's hear from folks!

Let me talk to my boss about the shop. I don't know for sure what he will think about it but it's worth a shot. I would do it at my place but my garage isn't up yet so it would have to be a day that we knew the weather would be good. If that can be arranged then we can keep that option open for a back-up.

Well I just got very busy the next few weekends... my inlaws are coming for a visit so I've got a couple weekends to get some house/yard work done and then they arrive for a week.  So it's unlikely that I'll be able to attend or host the mod gtg right now.  Cry

Seriously, I think Chuck needs a  Hug

Since we've not secured a location yet, this is just a minor setback...

Just a thought, this is a posting for Longmont...well maybe it should be more general since several from the springs are involved or wanna be involved... My  $0.02

Anyway, what about a park? Do we need power? Most of us have battery operated tools. I know its not in Longmont, but Palmer park here in the springs has large areas that can be reserved, has bathrooms, park area for kids (in some of the areas) and even BBQ grills. I really am needing to know almost now in order to make it to this one, Im holding off making any plans just for this but wont be able to hold them back much longer. If there were a park in Denver that had the same things that would work to. LETS JUST DO IT!!!!!!

We could even do this at my house though the garage is still just a concrete pad, but there is power and a bad-ass BBQ grill!!!

Well I have some good news and some bad news...

My inlaws are most likely not coming to visit this month or for the next few months so my honey-do list has shortened to things Nicole wants done.  Smile

The bad news is my father-in-law tore his bicep muscle loose from his shoulder requiring surgery here sometime soon. Shocked
